Ace Multiply Matrix: Several Games in a review of multiplication facts:
1. MULTIPLIER: Review and learn the times table one multiplier at a time. Multipliers range from zero (0) to twelve (12). Touch the pieces to flip and reveal the answers.
2. GRID PLAY: Solve the grid by dragging the right answer to the times grid slot before time runs out. The difficulty gets harder and less time is given as player progress through the level. The higher player progress through the levels and the quicker the grid is solved, the higher the score.

Wordle: A tool for generating “word clouds” from text that you provide. The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text. This is a great tool for brainstorming ideas. It can also be used for student writing so they can see if they are overusing any words in their writing.

Wordia: Wordia is a free games-based learning platform - built on the foundations of a dictionary - that blends word-based learning games with interactive video vocabulary. Wordia encourages students to learn through play - building subject ‘Word Banks’ as they compete with classmates and other schools in a fun, competition-led, learning environment.
QR Voice: Type in any text up to 100 characters and generate a QR code for it. Once it is scanned, the computer will say what you typed. Great idea for centers!
Technology Tip
For Copying, Cutting, and Pasting on the Mac:
Command + C= Copy
Command + X= Cut
Command+ V= Past
Instead of ‘control’, you ‘command’!

One Book, One School
As you know Chicken Sunday by Patricia Polacco will be our One Book, One School book for second quarter. I will be giving two copies of the book to each grade level. Her website is: http://www.patriciapolacco.com and it is full of great stuff.
P.A.R.T.Y. with I PICK books
This week all grade levels are working on “Partying” in the media center. Pick Anything Read To Yourself with a large emphasis on picking books that are ‘just right’ for them. We will continue to discuss and explore how to find and choose books in the library setting and discuss the attributes of a good reader. The upper grades will be choosing books with book talks in mind.

1. Becoming a Nation of Readers recommends that students engage in two hours of silent
sustained reading per week.
2. You can find lots of great examples of video book talks online – Here are links to two of my
